Jillian (Jill) Kowalchuk (Born on December 31st 1985) is a founder and CEO of Safe & The City. She is also a gender activist and founded her company due to her own personal experience. Kowalchuk is a woman whose mission is to eradicate an epidemic invisible to many- sexual harassment.
Early life and education
[edit]Jillian Kowalchuk was born in Calgary, Canada, but in her early years lived in Aden- Yemen with her family was based until the Civil War of 1994. Kowalchuk earned her undergraduate degree in University of Alberta studying Psychology and minored in Sociology then a MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Kowalchuk has traveled in 50 countries and worked in 8 countries(Uganda,Japan,Australia,New Zealand,Canada,Scotland and England) her avid travelling has fed into her founding her country. Kowalchuk moved from Vancouver, Canada to London in 2016.
Work
[edit]Kowalchuk founded Safe & The City in February 2017 in London. The idea for Safe & The City came about after an incident in which Jillian herself experienced sexual harassment.
