Orient bikes Orient Combination Tandem (1899)

Together with its partners Prof. Herbert L. Thompson, Elmer G. Howe, Frank L. Howe and possibly William Parrot [Note. 1] he founded in 1893, Orient.

The company was established under the laws of the State of Maine, [4] but had its headquarters at the Rumford Avenue in Waltham (Massachusetts). [3] Prepared were bicycles under the brand name Orient. [1] [2] Metz was the Managing Director of the company. The brand name is possibly due to the Orient Fire Insurance Company, for which he sold insurance. [5] The production was 1894. [6]

John Robbins received the position of plant manager. [2] The company also relied on the experience of Charles Metz as a designer. To make Orient-bikes known, the company established a successful factory racing team. With a weight of 20 lbs (about 9.1 kg), [7] a still good value, Orient-road bikes were then very easy rightly considered. [8] As a model Mile-A-Minute they arrived in the free sale ,
