Phi Sigma Lecture Society is one of three private social societies at Wellesley College. More commonly known as "Phi Sig," the purpose of the society is to organize lectures on campus on both academic and non-academic topics. The group also organizes social events, including on-campus parties, cruises in Boston Harbor, as well as mixers with MIT fraternities and Harvard finals clubs. Phi Sig attracts Wellesley students who are interested in the balance of a challenging academic life with outside endeavors and an active social life. Notable alumnae include journalists Diane Sawyer, Victoria Barret, and Shannon Van Sant, as well as food writer Georgia Pellegrini. Many members have gone on to distinguished careers in finance, medicine, international development, law, and publishing.
