TBLP on page - Sramana Mitra

Hi Hitro, Thanks a lot for visiting my current work.

I added a bunch more references to the page that I was editing. Could you please view it and let me know if the current level of references/citation looks sufficient?

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mass Appeal (media), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sprite (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Contests

[edit]

User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:23, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

3 tags on St. Xavier's High School, Suryapet

[edit]

I've checked 6 pages of Google search and can come up with nothing to respond to your demand for better sources. I suggest that in a school like this for the very poor there is little that those who read newspapers in India find newsworthy. Unless claims are excessive I see nothing wrong with accepting the description of a work by those involved in the work. There is also the external reference called for by guidelines for schools.Jzsj (talk) 15:49, 8 September 2016 (UTC)

Hello @Jzsj:, I do agree, there may be a lack of available online sources about this institution but I am not questioning the notability of the school here. Out of 5 references, 2 are from blogspot, 2 are self-published and 1 is LinkedIn, technically they are not accepted. Even for schools we have to follow WP:GNG, WP:NGEO and WP:ORG. Those tags can attract somebody who may understand local languages and may produce the sources in different languages or in different medium like print media. Eventually, those tags will help in improving the article or even expanding it. Best, Hitro talk 16:39, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
My point is that it doesn't take 3 tags to invite people to enlarge an article, and excessive tags can cause resentment against Wikipedia: better retain followers for Wikipedia than antagonize. I don't find the poor people in India (and Jesuits who work with them) to be very active in Wikipedia, and my own feeling is that attraction works better than attempting to provoke participation. Also, this is one of those cases allowed for in which Linkedin is reliable since we are not writing an article on the person but believing him when he tells us where he attended high school: the likelihood of his lying in this matter seems very slim.Jzsj (talk) 17:01, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
@Jzsj:. Article has issues that is why tags are placed and they are placed correctly. If you believe that tags are placed wrongly then remove them and leave a proper edit summary. By the way, check WP:AVERAGE to know how many Indians are active on internet. I patrol new pages daily and every fourth article is somehow related to India. I rest my case here. Thank you. Invite to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing, whether it's a river in Malawi, a Nigerian footballer, or a South African civil rights activist, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. For those of you who signed up to the North African contest, that will hopefully be held in the new year. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:11, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 09:04, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

User group: New Page Reviewr

[edit]

Hello HitroMilanese.

Based on the patrols you made of new pages during a qualifying period in 2016, your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed.

New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.
  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:34, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter

[edit]
Hello HitroMilanese,
Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 803 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.
Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey: Please vote

With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Hello Seventh Dragon, one of the article that you created was deleted yesterday, because it was not written in encyclopedic tone, it was more promotional less informative. Biography of a living person should be written in neutral point of view without promoting the subject. The claims made within the subject must be referenced to reliable sources and should be verifiable. The second article that you created has been nominated for deletion because it does not appear to have any credible claim of significance. Please read Wikipedia:Your first article, here you will get all the info about dos and don'ts while creating a new article. Regards, Hitro talk 20:24, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

The page Heavy in the Head... was created for the Detroit underground hip hop fanbase, the Eminem affiliates followers and the whole hip hip community. Hello Грищук ЮН, I am pinging Wikishovel, as maintenance tags were placed by him so he may give a better review on the current version of the article. Thanks Hitro talk 13:08, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
Hello HitroMilanese and @Грищук ЮН:. The article consists mostly of unsourced claims and WP:Original research, starting with the its title: I can find WP:Reliable sources affirming that Scheffer named it Mignon verlangende naar haar vaderland (e.g. [1], but can find none supporting the claim that it's more widely known as Иисус в женском обличии (Jesus in a female guise). The few references in the article are blog entries, with no reliable sources, and the whole article looks like it belongs in Draft rather than main article space. Грищук ЮН, where did you read that it's called Jesus in a female guise? Thank you, Wikishovel (talk) 13:22, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
I already mentioned in article: Ary Scheffer titled the painting Mignon desires her fatherland to hide the true meaning of this artwork behind the personage of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Wilhelm Meister's Apprenticeship (1795-1796), - Mignon." It si means that the artwork has double meaning. Let me complete the article and after will discuss about it and about the name of the article. I have interesting sources anout Avant-garde art in the first part of XIX century and about one art critic, who wrote (I will mention it in the article including source) that Ary Scheffer fall down from own high pedestal due to on his works the feelings are unreally. And now about this artwork, Mignon desires her fatherland - if you se here Mignon of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - the critic is correct. But if you see The Poster-Icon about the Feminization (Struggle due to female rightes and Vote) - all clear and more then clear. And in this case the critic is not correct and it is also as confirmation that what I wrote is correct. After this article I will try to descride two artworks of Ary Scheffer more to understand it. Nobody checked the history during Ary Scheffer period and directly in 1830-s when this artwork was created. In 1830- began activities (striggle) forthe woman's VOte and Rights. It is why this artist was very famouse during his life and fall down from pedestal when this struggle was completed. Thanks.Грищук ЮН (talk) 14:24, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
Грищук ЮН Today, I was little busy in my real life so I couldn't do much research on the article. However, you can discuss with me about all the sources that you have about this topic. We may figure out how to include all those information in the article. Regards. Hitro talk 18:10, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your message, but it is later due to the text in article deleted. The confiramtion can be the article of one art critic Charles Pierre Baudelaire "About Mr. Ary Scheffer and counterfeiters feelings" (Russian: О г-не Ари Шеффере и о фальсификаторах чувства). He mentioned that Ary scheffer lost own pedestal due to on his artworks unreal feelings. If you on the painting Mignon desires her fatherland and understand the word "desire" as "dream" and the word "fatherland" as Homeland this critic is correct. But if you you understand the word "desire" as "wish + want" and the word "fatherland" as "land of her father" the picture will open for you the following story:
  • the father of the Mignon, thr girl on the picture, had died and she very yung, less then 20 years and may not be еру heir to the land of her father as per Napoleonic Code and may not be married due to age less than 21 (her father land could be recorded by law on her husband as a wooman has not this Right to be 100% a hair). In this case Mignon up one hand that means that she wish asks the Rights to receive the fatherland plus the Vote Right (due to in 1830 commenced woomen activities in England to receive the Vote Rightes) and another Mignon's hand gave support to her left hand and it is means that her left hand will not tire and will require Rights and Vote for the women long time. In this case we see real feelings on this picture and it is also confirmation that we did not see another second and the main meaning of this picture.

Other confirmations:

  • The history confirm it.
  • The Icon's view of this painting also confirm it as she can be Sait in case will not received the fatherland and could be died due to this.
  • The novel about Mignon was issued in 1790-s and the painting was created in 1830-s ??? If about opera (in another Wikipedia article) - the opera started 1866 about, when the Ary Scheffer died allready. Here I also in doubt for what reason the artist created the picture about Mignon from novel? Could be he used it to be protected as the picted visually confirm my explanations.
  • The fingrrs of her left hand like Jesus fingers some times on some pictures, when one of them show to the heaven - like means if I will not receive Rights I will pass to the heaven (died) and no difference between me and Saints. Of course the finger is not strong, but she woman and star to ask the Rights.
  • I read somewhere that Mignon from novel is circus girl (can be I am not correct in this item only) and she wear boys cloths.
  • Woman received some Rights in 1838, after two years from the year of creations of this painting (1836). The girls could get marriage from the age 18 years from 1838 and coud be this theme became not the main and easy? theremore after the dieth of Ary Scheffer, nobody remeber the reason of this painting. Could be it was dangerous to declare directly the meaning of this painting and from begining everybody was talking only about Mignon of novel and in the second part of XIX, when women received more Rights, this painting was looking like non-interest painting with unreal feelings.

I see here the Poster-Icon (can be earlier to say about Icon, but in unsuccesful reault for Mignon regarding her father land it can be Icon also), but the poster has text ussually. The text here are:

  • Hands and fingers position
  • Jesus pose
  • land under the feet
  • the semicircular top and the painting is looking as an Icon
  • she looking like very young Saint - no boots, left hand to the heaven
  • all above plus hairs and she looking like "Jesus in female guise
  • The frame around the picter allitle close the Icon's view of this painting, but could be it was maden specially also.
  • I was in this museum and when I turned suddenly to this painting my first opinion was like she is the Saint, but veru young. Due to young I tried to describe position her hands - like Voting and ask permition to say (it is Vote and RIghts). Later I saw the title of this artwork and I understood from beginning that she whishe + want her father land. I tried to check the history of the lows in Netherlands - and received confirmation from history.
  • If I see this picture as a picture about women rights, the people of 1830-s sow this 100% and could be Ary Scheffer was a hero during that period. In 1850 he changed dwelling and passed to France. Could be the painting remained in the Netherlands and soon everybody lost the main meaning.

Thanks! I did not completed this article to bring it in good form as my text deleted already. I beleave that we did not understood the Ary Scheffer. I have idea about two mere his pictures - how he described the feelings. Грищук ЮН (talk) 19:38, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi Грищук ЮН, Your analysis about this painting is really appreciable, I do agree with most of the points that you are making. But it will be considered original research unless we cite these theories to reliable sources. Do you have links to the Charles Pierre Baudelaire's article or research paper where he has discussed about this painting. We can definitely use it as a source to the claims you are making. Apart from that it's an old painting and there are less chances of finding online sources about it so if you have any sources in books then let me know we can figure out to cite those books as references. I am creating a draft, copying deleted text, at this link User:Грищук ЮН/Draft, we can work on the draft for now, I'll help you to reference those claims. Once we finalize the draft as per Wikipedia guidelines then we can copy the text to main article. One more thing, are there any sources where it has been mentioned that this painting is called "Jesus in a female guise" too? Verifiable references are important. Beside these things, I saw some of the pictures that you have taken and uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. They are really fantastic. Cheers. :) Hitro talk 17:36, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Many thanks! Today I placed some paintings and copies from the artworks by Ary Scheffer in the article Mignon desires her fatherland to show that Ary Scheffer portrayed this person (Mignon) on other own artworks. Already checked my addition to this article and remain due to agree - it is visible and you can check. First of all I intend to go by another way to confirm that I am correct - when 2 ways will come to the same desigion it will be OK and correct. Directly about this painting I have not any information. I will revert later. Thanks Грищук ЮН (talk) 17:51, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
I continue. I am 99% sure that she is Pauline Viardot and the Crists (Jesus) if her husband Louis Viardot (about hi m you can read in Franch Wikipedia). The main comfirmations that this Holly family had two daugthers with 10 years diffence in ages. Now you can see one more painting by Ary Scheffer here in the center one picture. I will place it soon in the article Mignon desires her fatherland. If you want to say about the nose of Pauline Viardot - yes, when people became old age people their noses often became bigger. About Ary Acheffer mentioned in the sources that he was a good portretist. Seems he could portray the old age person and to ajust allitle the nose and others to make this person younger. Theremore he had drawing with the young nose of Pauline Viardot. And now to see here to understand me. I again has to go and will revert today. Грищук ЮН (talk) 18:24, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
Hi again! Why Pauline Viardot - she could similar story regarding her father-land. She was born in 1821 and was the third child in the family. Her father died in 1832 when she was 11 years old. It is means that her oldest brother and her sister could receive the father-land and regarding she is not clear. But this story can be nothing also, - it is my opinion, - can be this painting only about women Rights and Votes. She was 15 years old in 1836 when this painting was created, - the girl with the same age about portrayed on this artwork. Also she was in England in 1830-s when commenced women actions to require the Vote.

Regarding Ary Scheffer - the same French critic mentioned in own article (here on Russian) about one his painting "Today and tomorrow" (Russian: «Сегодня и завтра»), I did not found oout this painting anywhere, following:

"«Сегодня и завтра». Что бы это могло означать? Может быть, два знамени, белое и трехцветное; или тут имеется в виду одержавший победу депутат и тот же депутат в отставке. Ничуть не бывало: это юная девственница, вступающая на путь порока, играет драгоценностями и розами; и вот она же, потрепанная и увядшая, валяется на солиме, расплачиваясь за былое легкомыслие."

Partly on English (I did not translate all):

"You can try to translate it but here mantioned that he do not understand what this painting means: Can be two banners, white and three-color; and here it is means a delegate, who has win or a delegate in retirement. No: she young virgin, who entering on the path of Vice and pays with jewelry and roses; ..."

I want say that one more picture can be has double meaning. Seems some artworks of Ary Scheffer coded.

About history - I correct partly due to I checked only the Netherlands history, but Scheffer was travelling and was in the France often. But any way I correct and I have more idea regarding history as the same was in the France and ... About this I will report next time.

About title Jesus in female ... it is my anme for this picture or better to say my first opinion (I did not see the title in the museum due to I made photo and received precautions do not use camera and did not come close to this painting). Any way, after I tried to understand what she want say by hands - she asks permition to talk? May be it is painting regarding women Rights and Vote? And the artwork looking like an Icon, but she is very young. And I commenced to search information as per way which allready mentioned by me. Yes, this artwork about Feminization - Women Activity regarding their Rights and Vote. It is why I commenced to axplane from my title of the painting to explain that you will see the same in the museus if you wand to check yourself what you see. My title better to leave as the second name and article can be named as ussually Mignon desires her fatherland. But for me , of course better was my name in the heading as it is rise the wishes to search and to understand. Грищук ЮН (talk) 19:10, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Hello Грищук ЮН, I saw those paintings that you added to the article but they were removed because of personal commentary and original research. I will suggest you not to add claims or statements to the main article unless you can source it. Unsourced claims will be removed shortly. I also noticed that you made some changes to the draft, I will look into this on Sunday and will suggest you the improvements. I found few books on google books related to this painting. Most of them are in Dutch, I will read them and find out more about this painting so that we may source the claims perfectly. I will need to translate those so I will require more time to read it than usual. If you are good in Dutch then you may check those books too. Your analysis about this painting is very convincing, you are correct at almost every point that you are making but still we need an external reliable source to include them in the article. I will work on these books on coming weekend and will let you know more about it. Regards,Hitro talk 16:59, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
Hello HitroMilanese, I found out the way where You placed my text and will pluss information there. I have to say, that it is my hypothesis, but regarding the relations of this painting to women struggle for the Voce and Rights on my opinion clear. I will right more, due to use not official article now, what on my opinion could be to chack from both sides. Also I will pluss more photos that could be deleted later (to see photo with Icon, where plenty Icons with semicircular top and in the article Icons it is absent). Thanks for you source. I will write my vision of the history and my opinion also in the end, but it is for You to check also as it is will difficulty to confirm. I will write about three wooman, which could be portrayed on this artwork as per age and she were close or could be close to Scheffer. Thanks. Грищук ЮН (talk) 17:26, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

I close to completion of article Mignon desires her fatherland - to see User:Грищук ЮН/Draft.

Information in my article User:Грищук ЮН/Draft, which has not any source and is my opinion, marked by dark black color.

Also in the information, which adreses you gave me, in one source dated 1862 mentioned, that this painting "is not 1838 year, it dated 1836 year". And in the 1838 year the some articles of law regarding women right were changed. Seems in the midle XIX century this artwork was looking like a part of women strugle for the rights and vote.[1] I mentioned this in my article also. And from 1862 this paiting was dated 1836 and everybody was looking in this was Mignon of Ghete only.

Can be I will write in my article allitle more information about husband of Pauline Viardot on the paitings of Ary Scheffer. Грищук ЮН (talk) 13:20, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

References

Привіт Грищук ЮН, I just went through the draft, you have put in lots of effort. First of all, we should move sourced content to appropriate article or sections. Some of the sections are not appropriate for "Mignon desires his fatherland" because it talks more about the artists so we should consider moving it to the artist's page. Apart from that, I guess you can create a separate article about "Mignon yearns for heaven". You can always write your opinion on the talk page of the articles too, so that other user can discuss it with you. Let me know if you need any help. Thanks! Hitro talk 11:52, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
Hi! I received you msg. I agree, that part of message must be placed in the article Ary Scheffer. Already I wrote some information in the article Ary Scheffer and can be written more. Some information can be placed in article Pauline Viardot - it is about the poptraits with Crist and she, e.t.c. But, in case we will separate all, it will lost story line and again nobody will understand from which sorces, e.t.c. Seem necessary to correct my information and print some where in Internet or anywhere as separate article and after use it as a source and devide for some articles. Also English Wikipedia needs article Louis Viardot and I can write it as very interesting information in the Russian sources. Can be better to write article Viardot family, or Viardot family and Ary Scheffer, or better Viardot family and the representatives of Art, Music and Literature as plenty information about relations of this family with the representatives of Art, Music and Literature. Regarding painting "Mignon yearns for heaven", we have nothing, except my opinion. This artwork can be together with Mignon desires his fatherland as addition. But to write goo article Mignon desires his fatherland we need a source to explain why it like this - it my collected information. Awaiting your reply. Thanks. Грищук ЮН (talk) 12:55, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
Hello!! Грищук ЮН Even though if it loses storyline, we have to give priority to the sources and to the inclusion of content to relevant articles. Currently, the draft is deviating a little from the topic. We are talking about painting but many information is little off-topic. You should trim the draft a little and keep it to the point and add other sourced info in relevant articles. I know you have solid and convincing opinions but we can not include that in main article so you should consider placing your opinions on talk pages of the article so that some other interested users can read them and make their point, unless you can source them. Yes, you can definitely start Viardot family article but always make sure to include references. I'll suggest start a draft, finalize it with sources, keep the information on-topic and avoid original researches. Hitro talk 10:31, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
I understand. It will necessary to place this material to some articles. But all sources, which use Wikipedia, are original researches mostly. The same in my article I used some original articles, which have other sources and any way have and own opinion. Why we may not to write a version: political situation was like this in 1830-s and the painting looking like about women. One more version: that on some paintings of Ary Scheffer portrayed the representatives of Viardot family and show it one by one using the paintings (as I made it). May we write in Wikipedia about versions? Can be after sombody will found out more sources to confirm it. May I write the article about Viardot Family including the paintings on which portrayed Viardot family as my version. I see, that you also agree, that it can be really (99% and can be 100%). If I may not write about version, the new articles about Viardot Family (or about Pauline Viardot and her husbent separate article) will deleted again. It is very interresting, that I placed before this information in Russian Wikipedia and they were agree to remain it, but to cut some. I was not agree to cut and I deleted from that Wikipedia my article. But they were agree with like this opinion. Yes, the same their Wikishovel triyed to delet, but other persons back it and commenced strugle to short the verse and to remain the most information. I can not found out more information about this painting and other portrits by Scheffer, but I sure that it it like this. WHAT TO DO? May be to place from begining my article in any source and after to take it from that source? Most people, who read my article agree that seems it was like this. Which information I have to cut? Why Wikipedia afraids Original Researches? It is possible to mark as Version or Original Research. Of course, I agree, that it must be placed for discussion and if the most specialists in this sphere agree, that it is interesting situation and more then 75% can be like this - to keep this information in Wikipedia. WHY NOBODY DELETE ARTICLE "Loch Ness Monster" FROM WIKIPEDIA - THE MOST PEAPLE UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS NOT TRUE INFORMATION (ANY WAY LESS THEN 50% PEOPLE BELEAVE THAT Loch Ness Monster WAS or PRESENT NOW). I can find out plenty articles, in which mentioned unreally information or versions. And again about Pouline Viardot. In Russian Wikipedia and in some sources mentioned that her son could be born from Russian writer Turgenev. It is due to some letters, in which Turgenev gave to husband of Viardot the nickname Sexy Holly Father and due to Turgenev long time traveled close to this family. But, can be Holly Father due to he was painter by Ary Scheffer as a Crist? But you will agree with the vertion of Russian Wikipedia as it is mentioned in one source as version only. Why impossible plus and my version? Thanks. Awaiting your reply. Can copy this message to Wikishovel to avoid Wikishovel will delete the most information and again remain nothing? Also ask about the versions and why the article "Loch Ness Monster" and the same like this non-confirmed versions placed in Wikipedia. You can place my article and specialist of Art must say what to do. Again Thanks. One more. I was in Mukalla and have plenty photos. When I commenced to write article , I tried to search information about this city in Yemen. Nothing! I placed some my photos and wrote my description of the city and sea port. Russian Wikishovel commenced delete it - no any sources mentioned. I sent message, that no any information we have and I was there and is better to ask any Yemenise specialist (from the university, who collect and teach about Yemen). Reply was short: Leave it. Really, no any information. And now this article, I added it - about 98% of my information, still present and no any sources about the port and city description except me. But it is confirmed by photos and what I sow. Грищук ЮН (talk) 13:33, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
There's no need to copy me on this: I've been quietly following the exchange between you and HitroMilanese, as HitroMilanese pinged me about this thread earlier. Your English is extremely difficult to read, but I will do my best to answer your questions.
Wikipedia isn't "afraid" of original research: it's an encyclopedia, not an academic journal. To use your example, the article Loch Ness Monster is a collection of things that have been written about a legendary animal, as referenced by verifiable sources. An editor can't add to that article "I saw the Loch Ness Monster myself on my holidays", because that would be WP:Original research. But if someone's photos of the supposed creature were widely published in WP:Reliable sources, then we can report what those reliable sources said. Do you see the difference? We also can't write "reliable source X reported it in December of 1960, and reliable source Y reported in December of 1970, therefore the creature must only be visible in December": that would be WP:Synthesis of the published sources. Notice that the article makes no conclusions about whether or not the creature is real - it only reports what has already been written about it, both for and against.
In several articles, you've added WP:Original research, and because Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not an academic journal, original research must be removed. I hope that explains it for you. And by the way, I'm not Russian, I'm Welsh. Wikishovel (talk) 14:02, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for reply. I understand. And I have questions: May I place my VERSION with attached photos of portraits to the article Mignon desires her fatherland, - I will place only what about this painting (not full my article). And you can ask some Art famous specialists - Is it can be like version? If they will say NO - we can delete it and can be they will explain why. In case they will say YES - ... Some other articles I wrote as I have only this photos and information as I was involved in that sphere. Yes, some my articles were shorted or deleted due to not enough sources. In this case I had to write some other articles with sources as confirmation and any way easy back to my information in the main article. By you are (Wikipedia) source as it is no any where. What I have I confirmed or can confirm by telegramms of letters, or photos, which I had only and now you also. I do not like to write any wrong information. Of course, I try to search maximum sources. My article about Mignon desires her fatherlsand confirmed also by photos of the paintings, where you can see how Ary Scheffer changed the faces on own artworks and some artworks can be like confirmation, that members of Viardot family posed for Ary Scheffer. It is the same as about Loch Ness Monster, - OT OS VERSION ONLY (YES OR NO - tow chices), as somebody see and has photos, but no any really sources as photos possible to correct in wrong way also. I do not change photos as we use not my photos mostly for the article Loch Ness Monster. Can be sombody see it and will pluss any source which will not confirm or confirm it. I have not idea to place any wrong information. It is why I say, that my information can be version, the same as about Loch Ness Monster. My English is no good, but available to understand and some information, which you can read in my articles, you did hove before in any your sources. And what I wrote in that articles - that is not full information. I did not placed some (sometimes minimum), due to political, privat and other circumstamces. Thanks and sory for my English. Any way I try to follow you recomendations in English and others. Грищук ЮН (talk) 14:43, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
Published, WP:Secondary sources are what's needed for referencing an article: please see WP:RS, and especially WP:WPNOTRS, for more information on this. Adding images, and writing "looking at these images we can clearly see..." is original research. But if you added an image, along with what a reliable, published source said about the comparison of the two images, then that would be fine.
I completely understand that you're not trying to add wrong information, you've just got some strongly held opinions, and that's a very good thing to blog about, or write about in a magazine or journal.
And I hope I wasn't offensive about your English. My Russian is far worse, believe me! Thanks, Wikishovel (talk) 15:10, 18 December 2016 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter No.2

[edit]
Hello HitroMilanese,
A HUGE backlog

We now have 803 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.
