Initially founded in 1990 by a think tank in Washington, DC and later certified as a corporation in 2002. The company, now dormant, was managed by Edward Beck.

In one day alone, the Bashir government issued 50 licenses, without any due diligence process.” Since Bashir’s departure, Mohamed ‘Hemeti’ Hamadan Dagalo and his company, Al Gunade (Mining & Trading) has shown more than a casual interest in Sudan’s gold trade.

Hemeti, as a Brigadier General, has an estimated group 6,000 men, under his command, Janjaweed militia. Later, they were to be known as Rapid Support Forces, RCF. In 2017, RCF, under the leadership of Hemeti, took over 4 mines, including the Jebel Mara mine in Darfur. With the lucrative acquisitions, RCF purchased new weapons, including thousands of camouflaged artillery mounted pick up trucks.
