Akash Thosar is a Indian film actor who became an overnight star through his best-known role as Parshya in the Marathi blockbuster Sairat. He has acted in Marathi and Hindi films.
Career
[edit]Thosar was born and raised in a small village Jeur in Karmala in Solapur district, Maharashtra. Before coming into movies, he was a wrestler.[1] He was spotted at a railway station in Solapur by Bharat Manjule, brother of Sairat director Nagraj Manjule, who then called Akash for audition. [2] Thosar later starred in the lead role in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Marathi movie FU: Friendship Unlimited in 2017.[3]
In the latest 2018 Netflix original “Lust Stories”, an anthology film, Thosar is paired opposite Radhika Apte in the first story directed by Anurag Kashyap.

[edit]Akash Thosar won the best debut award (male) at the 62nd Jio Filmfare Awards Marathi 2017 for his performance in Sairat. [4][5]
