Murder
[edit]On March 19, 2009 Rhonda and Stephen hiked Eagle Creek Trail along Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge, the trail was damp due to a small rainstorm earlier that day, which caused parts of the trail to become slippery and unsafe for unprepared climbers, the trail also had moss overgrowth which contributed to the slipperness. [4] Halfway up the trail, there is a narrow part where only one person can go through at a time. During the time where Rhonda and Stephen were crossing this narrow path, it is speculated that Stephen pushed Rhonda down the cliff.[5] Stephen climed down from the leverage, and preformed CPR while on the phone with 9-1-1. Hood River County Sheriff’s Office responded and performed CPR and a ambulance was called to take her body to the hospital.[6]
