I use shortened footnotes, with a list of references at the end of the article. When called for I "bundle" references, using several in one footnote (although not separated on different lines, as in the example there), and add explanatory content, as you will see in footnotes 20 and 21 in the Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz article, or in footnote 5 of Olof Åhlström article (permanent links to article versions to make the numbers valid in case of future changes). This is the normal referencing system used in academic fields familiar to me. As I see it, there are good reasons for this. --Hegvald (talk) 14:05, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
