Emmaus South Lambeth
Emmaus South Lambeth is a registered charity in Lambeth, London, UK. The charity houses 27 formerlly homeless people, known as 'companions' in a community setting. The companions live and working in the community and it's social enterprise business. The ethos of Emmaus South Lambeth is that of solidarity, and helping those least fortunate first. These acts of solidarity are by way of fund raising for other charities, including other emering Emmaus groups, and others who may be suffering hardship.
Emmaus South Lambeth opened its doors to the first companions on 17th October 2007. The official opening was by Terry Waite CBE, and Joanna Lumley OBE.
