[edit]BICW has become an ICONIC MMA brand, the MMA Royalty.
An annual festival of combat sports for the Kingdom of Bahrain, bringing the community together in the celebration all combat sports through charitable events, social networks, educational seminars, sporting competitions and sport business programmers.
BICW 2022, will yet again take over the Mixed Martial Arts world and turn the Kingdom of Bahrain into the epicenter of combat sports. Held from 7th till 12th March, the week-long festivities will begin with the first-ever historic edition of the MMA Super Cup, the BIGGEST AMATEUR MMA event in the world; where the best nations in Amateur MMA will face off with a chance to earn a legendary prize for their own federations.
The show will culminate in the first BRAVE® Combat Federation show of 2022, as the fastest growing organization in the world will celebrate BRAVE® CF 57 in the Kingdom of Bahrain with some of the best martial arts on the planet in action.[1]
History of Brave International combat week
[edit]International athletes from over 40 nations took part in the first ever BRAVE International Combat Week. A milestone for the sport of MMA in the Kingdom saw over 300 athletes competing in either the amateur and professional fights, BICW 2017 also witnessed key celebrities, officials and journalists from around the world. BICW 2017, featured the 2017 IMMAF World Championships and BRAVE CF 9 from 12th till 19th November 2017. Apart from the fight night, BICW 2017 witnessed the launch of Ace Media Awards 2017 that honors media-based initiatives in Bahrain.[2]
11-18 November 2018
[edit]The Kingdom of Bahrain held the largest sports event in Asia with BRAVE International Combat week, featuring the IMMAF World Championship 2018 and BRAVE CF 18. A showcase of immense brand partnerships and bilateral relationships along with the strongest combat sports networking platform in the world, bringing together, international business leaders and organizations around the world, official dignitaries, heads of states and celebrities, under the one roof. BICW 2018 also saw the launch of KHK Heroes an initiative to identify achievers who have struggled to overcome challenges in life.
10 - November 2019
[edit]BRAVE International Combat Week 2019 took place through November 10th-16th 2019, with BRAVE CF 29 a key part in the largest combat sports festival in Asia. BRAVE CF 29 featured athletes from 18 different nations in 15 bouts. BICW 2019 bore witness to the world’s most valuable trophy in sports history, the KHK World Championship belt. 6.2kg of gold made an entrance in spectacular fashion with its arrival in a helicopter; a setting, befitting of its prestige. Another key event which took place during BICW 2019, was the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) World Championships. For the third year running, the World Amateur MMA Championships saw a record breaking 500 athletes, from 50+ countries, competing for medals that often springboard mixed martial artists to the next phase in their developing careers. Making BICW 2019 the largest IMMAF World Championships, in history.
For the first time in the history of Mixed Martial Arts the sport will join hands with nations through the biggest amateur mixed martial arts event in amateur MMA.
MMASUPERCUP is an annual event organized by the International MMA Federation and KHK SPORTS contested by the top 6 countries under the IMMAF world ranking
MMASUPERCUP[4]: represents;
- The beginning of the biggest opportunity for national federations to bring the sport of mixed martial arts into the government sector, to increase inclusion, empowerment & development of the sport and will officially be the greatest achievement for federations in MMA.
- The curtain closer for the annual season of IMMAF events and adds value to continents and world championship event circuit as these tournaments serves as qualifiers for.
- Serve as the largest revenue opportunity for the development of national MMA federations. It will be the first-ever event to connect nations to mixed martial arts with lucrative money prizes being offered to the best placed nations on tournament.
MMA SUPER CUP FORMAT
[edit]To qualify for the MMA Super Cup, teams must be ranked in the Top 6 of the IMMAF senior world rankings after the conclusion of the IMMAF World Championships. Rewarding the highest ranked teams with ranking points accumulated from IMMAF continental & world championships events. Provides an equal opportunity to truly see who the best amateur MMA team is. Two wild cards will be selected taking the total number of teams to 8. Wild cards will be selected based on criteria’s, which includes but not limited to; developing countries, sport development of the country or countries that are financially burdened and cannot achieve enough ranking points to be in the top 6 teams, however, have proven to have highly skilled athletes that require support to compete.
MMA SUPER CUP BRACKETS
[edit]The top four teams based on the last season’s IMMAF senior rankings, will be seed and placed on opposing brackets, as follows:
Quarter-Final Round
• Match 1: #1 ranked team vs. TBD via random draw from 5-8
• Match 2: #4 ranked team vs. TBD via random draw from 5-8
• Match 3: #2 ranked team vs. TBD via random draw from 5-8
• Match 4: #3 ranked team vs. TBD via random draw from 5-8
4 teams will be eliminated during the Quarter Finals, with the 4 winning teams moving forward to the Semi-Finals of the Super Cup.
Semi-Final Round
• Semi-Final 1: Winner of Match 1 vs. Winner of Match 2
• Semi-Final 2: Winner of Match 3 vs. Winner of Match 4
The 2 winning teams will move forward to fight for gold/ silver, while the 2 losing teams will contest for bronze.
Final Round
• Final 1 for Bronze: Loser of Semi-Final 1 vs. loser of Semi- Final 2
• Final 2 for Gold and Silver: Winner of Semi-Final 1 vs. winner of Semi-Final 2
MMA SUPER CUP MATCH UPS
[edit]Each matchup between nations will consist of nine (9) bouts, between fighters of each of the male and female weight divisions that form each team. The team that sums up most wins, will be declared the winner of the match.
Competition Rules
Each bout will consist of 3x3 minute-rounds, under IMMAF rules.
If a bout ends in a draw:
An extra round will be added to define the winner In case of another draw, subsequent rounds will be added until define the winner
Forfeit
In cases where a fighter is eliminated due to suspension, two substitutions are permitted. If there are further suspensions, the team will forfeit in the relevant division.
Weight-Class Switching
Fighters may be required to change weight classes during the competition. This may be required, in order to cover for suspended fighters, or due to other strategy and factors defined by each team.
However, certain rules will apply for fighters switching weight classes. These rules are:

Suspension
After each matchup, the commission will make an assessment of the fighters and may provide suspension, depending if there was any injury in his/her last bout. Hence, commission will determine the period of suspension to be imposed, if it applies. If a fighter is out due to suspension, he may be replaced by a substitute fighter.
Match Completion
If the scenario that a team loses initial 5 bouts, they will have automatically lost the match (since the total bouts of each match are 9) In such cases, the team is required to keep competing until completion of the 9 bouts.
This is required, in order to properly update the International IMMAF rankings accordingly.
