Brawl in the Family is a parody webcomic made by Matthew Taranto, focused on the Kirby and Super Smash Bros. series.^[1]

Background

According to Taranto, the comic initially started out due to boredom. During one of his art history lessons, Taranto began to "space out a little" and started drawing Kirby in different odd positions to pass the time. After a year or two, Taranto decided to redraw some of the comics in Adobe Photoshop and uploaded them onto an IGN message board. Due to positive feedback, he continued making the strips.^[2] The comic started focused on Kirby; however, Taranto later added the Smash Bros. characters to the strip.^[1]
