Aurora Threats (born January 8) is an American writer, producer, actress, and creator. She is best known for being the first woman in the United States to collaborate with talent from Ghana on the award-winning animated short film Supercilious, which earned her a nomination at the 54th NAACP Image Awards. Aurora was recognized as a Success 2023 Woman of Influence for her innovative achievements and contributions that inspire change in communities and across the globe. She is an esteemed member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and holds a Bachelor of Science in Theatre Education from Grambling State University and a Master of Science in Human Relations and Business from Amberton University. Additionally, she studied at Marla Gibbs Crossroads Arts Academy, Los Angeles, CA. She is a proud Lifetime Member of the Grambling University National Alumni Association (GUNAA).
Career
[edit]Aurora Threats has an illustrious career that spans various creative endeavors. She has performed on renowned stages across the United States, notably in the box office hit stage play comedy Beauty Shop which revolutionized African American theater. The production embarked on an unprecedented 50-city tour, selling out every venue and still holds a historical box office record in the genre. Aurora’s performances graced iconic venues, including The Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, The Beacon Theatre on Broadway in New York, NY, Constitution Hall in Washington, DC, and The Pantages Theater on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, CA, among others. Additionally, she toured with Barber Shop, contributing to its widespread success. In 2018, she wrote her own stage play comedy, So Heavenly Bound No Earthly Good, further impacting the theater and African American storytelling.
Humanitarianism and Honors

Recognized for her dedicated advocacy for various social causes and her commitment to humanitarianism, she serves as a beacon of inspiration, influencing others across multiple fields. In the Dallas/Fort Worth area, she actively supports initiatives aimed at youth development, education, and community empowerment. Aurora holds the esteemed honor of being the first individual to receive a Key to her hometown of Lake Providence, LA, in acknowledgment of her exceptional contributions to the arts and her role as an inspiration to the East Carroll Parish community and the world.
