History
[edit]Towanda High School Building, with a cupola bell tower was built in 1873 on the corner of State Street and Western Avenue.[2] This school burned down in January 1915. A new building was erected and opened in 1916 on the same corner. This was Towanda's high school until it was moved to a new building nearby in 1968. The State Street building continued to be used as a junior high school until it was torn down in 2005. These students merged with the high school, and it became a Junior/Senior High School.
