Prakash Roy is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Mohun Bagan A.C. in the I-League.
Career
[edit]Born in Nandanpur, Jalpaiguri, while studying in Class 7, Prakash used to play in the Jalpaiguri League as a striker for the Joyma Club. He joined Joyma club and later attended trial in Jalpaiguri Mohun Bagan Academy.
Prakash also represented the Joyma Club in the Jalpaiguri Nursery League and became the highest scorer. He then joined Mohun Bagan Academy after clearing the trial in 2009-10, where apart from the striker position, he also started playing as the wing half.
Prakash was part of the Jalpaiguri Mohun Bagan Academy team which participated in quite a few tournaments in Odisha, Koraput (finished runners up), Jagdalpur and Madhya Pradesh.
In the Boroplus Tournament held on a home and away basis in West Bengal, he was part of the Jalpaiguri district team consisting mainly of players from the Mohun Bagan Jalpaiguri Academy.[1]
Mohun Bagan
[edit]After seeing Roy in trial, Coach Karim Bencherifa gave the consent to include him in the senior team. On 9th October 2013 Roy signed for Mohun Bagan.[2]
