The Metro Manila Bus Rapid Transit will be a bus rapid transit system in Metro Manila.[1]
Description
[edit]The program was approved in 2018 with a loan agreement with the World Bank. The system will be built in phases, with the first phase being Line 1, which will be built on Quezon Avenue and España Boulevard. The second phase will be called the Line 2 or the "Central Corridor" which will be built on EDSA. Both projects are eyed to be complete by around 2020. However, due to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic in the Philippines and its resulting enhanced community quarantine or near-total lockdown, preparation and construction work to the project is put on hold.
According to the visuals provided by the Department of Transportation, the bus will feature an island platform-style layout, different to the present standard of keeping bus stops on the shoulder.
