Sociological Themes in Vernor Vinge's Rainbows End

[edit]
  1. Objective I propose to work on a Wikipedia article that details and explains the sociological themes found in Vernor Vinge's Rainbows End.
  2. Interest This is interesting because science fiction novels are typically a leisure style book, which are more focused on entertaining. While Rainbows End does entertain, there are also noticeable sociological themes in the novel that are worth pointing out and discussing.
  3. Background reading I will read the remaining chapters not covered in class by Rainbows End, plus the Wikipedia articles and any other relevant articles connected to the themes I am connecting as well as the textbook.
  4. General Plan I plan to finish reading Rainbows End. Then I plan to create the wikipedia page for the themes in the novels or edit the existing one if there is one already made. Then by using the textbook and any relevant articles I find, wikipedia or otherwise, I'll organize my findings on the themes and present them on the wikipedia page in an orderly fashion.
  5. Collaborators I will be working mostly alone, but if anyone else decides to take part with in editing the page, then I am fine with either collaborating or just working independently.

Comments from Ted: Great! Glad you are interested in this project. I am adding your name to a list on the project page. We can start outlining the parts of the article on that page. --Htw3 (talk) 14:39, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
