I am the founder, Director and Curator of Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art in Denver, Colorado and the Adjunct Curator of the Kirkland Collection at the Denver Art Museum.
As a close family friend of painter Vance Kirkland (1904-1981), I inherited his estate in 1981. In 1996, my wife and I established the Kirkland Foundation to research, acquire, rediscover, and preserve Colorado artists, primarily from 1820 to 1980. In 1993, Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art opened to the public.
I received my B.A. from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, and an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Denver.
