Hi! I'm Philip, born in Ireland, 1966.

My main interests here are Irish history and world geography, and topics related to cycling, urban planning and environmental issues.

For those who are interested, Gyatso La is a giant pass in Tibet, it took me two days to cycle up it, but i was rewarded at the top with my first sight of Mt. Everest. Probably the most memorable (certainly the most painful) experience of my life. Hence the name.
