Hypoxic ventilatory response (HVR) is the increase in ventilation induced by hypoxia. It is initially elevated in lowland people who go to high altitude, although it reduces significantly over time as people acclimatize.
Hypoxic Ventilatory Response (HVR) is a term used in the study of anthropology pertaining to human adaptation and stresses of high altitude.
