Oliver's Almanack of World Football is a British football reference book by Guy Oliver published by Harpastum Publishing in March 2010.[1] The 2010 edition is the fifth, the previous 4 having been published under the title Almanack of World Football by Headline (a division of Hodder Headline), all with Guy Oliver as author. For the 2010 edition the publication date has been moved to the March of the year in the title, the others had appeared in September of the previous year.
The 2006 and 2007 editions appeared endorsed as "Official Licensed Publication of FIFA", with the FIFA logo on the cover, however this was not present for the 2007 or 2008 editions. In 2010 the book is produced "In association with FIFA.com".
The books are produced with 1056 pages (except the 2006 edition which had only 1042) and is 5.25 by 8.25 ins. (13.5 by 21 cms) in size. The 2006 and 2007 editions had a yellow/khaki design, which changed to a brighter gold and yellow pattern for 2008 and 2009. The 2010 edition has a more uniform orange/brown cover, slightly darker than previous years. Since 2008, a narrow strip of 9 or 10 photographs of prominent current players or teams has appeared wrapped around the full width of the front and back covers, and the spine.
