The Art Therapy Alliance is a professional group of over 2,000 art therapists, students, and interested individuals who embrace the use of social media to promote art therapy, the work of art therapists, and an art therapy community for networking and information sharing within the field. [1] Founded in 2008, this professional group also reports on worldwide art therapy news and resources. [2]
The Art Therapy Alliance hosts subgroups on a variety of art therapy topics such as medical art therapy [3] art therapy & older adults, trauma and loss, digital art therapy, materials and media in art therapy, as well international art therapy and an international art therapy collaborative.
In partnership with The International Art Therapy Organization,[4], the Art Therapy Alliance also publishes the quarterly publication FUSION [5] as a resource to the global art therapy community about relevant issues and resources related to contemporary art therapy.
