Unit Island is a low-lying, roughly circular islet in Morro Bay, California[1]. The island (and much of the surrounding bay) is surrounded by mud flats[2] which are exposed at low tide, causing the apparent size of the island to vary dramatically throughout any given day. Like other rocks and islands in the area, the island is home to a variety of seabird species. The island is just outside Morro Bay State Park.
