Scottoiler are a UK based company who have grew from strength to strength due to their new and innovative products and ideas. The Scottoiler was invented by Fraser Scott who first made the product availiable to the public in 1983, finally settling on trading as Scottoiler (Scotland) Limited in 1992. Scottoiler now have a range of chain lubrication kits including the Scottoiler eSystem, vSystem, BMW F800R Kit, F800/F650 GS Kit and the Touring Kit.
History
[edit]Keen scrambler rider Fraser Scott came up with the idea of the Scottoiler when riding to Manchester from Glasgow each weekend to visit his girlfriend at the time. Due to the many miles he was covering Fraser found himself frequently adjusting and lubing his chain so he decided to come up with a solution. Why not develop a device that would take away the hassle of constant chain lubing? Fraser spent almost a decade perfecting the prototype and building a marketable product. In 1983 Textile Mouldings of Accrington commisoned Westclox of Dumbarton to manufacture 10000 Scottoilers which were launched at the NEC show in 1983. Fraser sold his niche product in limited numbers via mail order. The company name Scottoiler wasn't established until 1992, by this time the product had picked up in popularity and the company began to take opportunitys within the motorcycle trade. Todays Scottoiler products are more technically advanced but still hold the essential benefits of the original prototype.
