Bibliography
[edit]Edit this section to compile the bibliography for your Wikipedia assignment. Add the name and/or notes about what each source covers, then use the "Cite" button to generate the citation for that source.
- "ECOS: Species Profile" ecos.fws.gov.[1]
- This is a government page describing conservation status of the species, specifically including its distribution. Since its a government site, it should be credible and will be useful for verifying the geographical distribution of the species.
- "San Diego Fairy Shrimp (Branchinecta sandiegonensis) | U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service". FWS.gov.[2]
- This is another government page under the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, establishing their credibility. The article describes the physical characteristics of this species that distinguishes it from others, which could be notable in describing its appearance.
- Arteaga, Maria Clara; Escudero, Nayeli; Gasca-Pineda, Jaime; Bello-Bedoy, Rafael; Guilliams, C. Matt (2019-07-23). "Genetic and phenotypic diversity of Branchinecta sandiegonensis (Crustacea: Anostraca) in the vernal pools of Baja California, México". Zootaxa. 4646 (1): zootaxa.4646.1.8. doi:10.11646/zootaxa.4646.1.8. ISSN 1175-5334. PMID 31717031[3]
- This is a peer-reviewed scientific article, meaning it should be a reliable source for the specific note on genetic and phenotypic diversity. Given that the entire article describes this fact, it could potentially establish notability.

Outline of proposed changes
[edit]Click on the edit button to draft your outline.
There is a missing citation for the distribution of the San Diego fairy shrimp, which I plan on adding with the first source. In addition, I wan to implement an "Appearance" section to briefly describe how the San Diego fairy shrimp differs from other fairy shrimp species. This can be done with the second source, as well as some supporting details on the genetic and phenotypic diversity from the third source.
Now that you have compiled a bibliography, it's time to plan out how you'll improve your assigned article.
In this section, write up a concise outline of how the sources you've identified will add relevant information to your chosen article. Be sure to discuss what content gap your additions tackle and how these additions will improve the article's quality. Consider other changes you'll make to the article, including possible deletions of irrelevant, outdated, or incorrect information, restructuring of the article to improve its readability or any other change you plan on making. This is your chance to really think about how your proposed additions will improve your chosen article and to vet your sources even further. Note: This is not a draft. This is an outline/plan where you can think about how the sources you've identified will fill in a content gap. |
