Pamela Alexander, born in 1952, is an attorney and judge. She became the first African-American female prosecutor[1] in the State of Minnesota. In 1983, she was appointed by Governor Rudy Perpich, which makes her the first Black Woman Judge in the State of Minnesota.
Early Life and education
[edit]Alexander was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from Minneapolis Central High School in 1970[2]. Upon receiving her diploma, she attended Augsburg College located in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Following her undergraduate studies, she attended the University of Minnesota School of Law where she served in several positions such as the Law School Council, Women's Caucus, Third World Caucus, Board of Directors- Student Legal Services, Teacher's Assistant- Women in the Law. [2] In 1977, Alexander graduated with her Juris Doctorate Degree.
