[edit]I am a student in high school who has enrolled into college classes, with the hopes of getting a head start on my associate degree. As of now I work as a barista in my local town. I hope to someday become a chiropractor and move to Arizona. Arizona is also nicknamed as The Grand Canyon State.[1] I want to finish my associates and then hopefully go to college in Arizona to finish getting all my schooling.
My Wikipedia Interests
[edit]I am excited to start using Wikipedia to learn how to find the difference in reliable and non reliable sources. I want to be able to help improve wikipedia pages. I also want to use wikipedia to learn new information on topics anywhere from climate change to harder subjects like depression.
Article Evaluation
[edit]I have been a barista for a little under a year and from learning all about coffee, I've also heard about many different types of coffee substitutes. I heard about this coffee substitute so I visited the Dandelion coffee article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: it's unreliable citations, it's use of wikipedia links, and lack of research.
Citations
[edit]There are plenty of citations on this page but with that being said some are not reliable. If this article found reliable resources for their information it would be more of a trustable site.
Wikipedia Links
[edit]This article use's a lot of links to other wikipedia sites. The use's of sources could be a little more varied but the wikipedia links used are very helpful in explaining information on specific pieces of information related to coffee substitutes.
Research
[edit]This article has a section sharing the impact this substitute coffee can have on cancer. For this section there is little information actually explaining it's impact. Instead of using a quote stating a strong opinion, also without any link, possibly use a quote from a reliable medical article and quote facts from that.
Summary
[edit]All in all this page is decent. The information could be stronger and more informative. I believe that the sources could be more assorted and also used to explain more on Dandelion coffee. If this page was to apply these things, it would be more reliable and useful for learning a lot about Dandelion coffee.
