Bio
[edit]About me
[edit]I am a singer and a musician. I write and compose songs of my own with a guitar. People who learn to play an instrument are able to keep calm and relieve stress easier. It has been proven to lower heart rates and blood pressure [1]. Other things about me: I karaoke all the time, read books in my free time and garden with my mother.
My Wikipedia Interests
[edit]If im active on Wikipedia in the future, it'll probably be to study artists, musicians and singers. For an example, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and more. I would also use it to view biography's of known people out here in the world. For an example, Ellen DeGeneres, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and more. This would be the main thing I would use Wikipedia for.
Article Evaluation
[edit]I've been interested in discovering the different types of instruments from all over the world. One of them that caught my attention was the Xiao (flute) from China. I visited the Xiao (flute) article on Wikipedia and saw three aspects worth commenting on, its citations, the history and it's unfinished look.
Citations
[edit]This article is typed very interestingly. I found it odd how there are only three citations (three references and one video of the flute) in this article. The paragraph that describes the flute has it's three citations but the following paragraphs don’t have any at all. This makes the article seem like it needs more reliable information to support its statements.
History
[edit]As I read through this article, I looked at the references and they are not up to date. The three citations are from resources in 2009, 2018, 2019, and the demonstration of the flute/how it sounds is a video from 13 years ago, not current. Although this page was last edited on October 16, 2020, I wonder what kinds of things the person had changed or retouched. Even though these sources are not current, the links are still available and working properly.
Unfinished Look
[edit]I think that this article had more potential and could have given more to the reader. With just four headings with less than a paragraph in some, I feel like there could have been more things talked about. For example, it could have given us information about known or unknown people who had mastered this instrument, about their life and why they chose it out of many.
Summary
[edit]In conclusion, this article seems like a not so well written piece. The reason for this is because the lack of citations/references make the information seem a bit unreliable. Although the information of this beautiful flute seems legit, as a reader, I would like to see where they had gotten their information from.
