Brigadier General Paul J. Loeser. Director of the administrative staff for construction of New York City's Triborough Bridge. Appointed by Robert Moses, Loeser had earlier led the staff of the Long Island Park Commission under Moses. Moses recalled that he was a martinet, but tough. Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia called him "a Prussian and a Nazi." Loeser was a retired Army brigadier general.
