Tailed Beasts

The tailed beasts (bijuu) are giant masses of chakra formed into 1 gigantic being. They are identified by their many tails that differ from 1 to 9 tails. They were originally 1 giant monster known as the 10 tails who was too much to handle for a majority of ninjas. It was soon sealed inside the body of "The Sage of the Six Paths". He later learned that when his death came around the 10 tails would be revived, so he split the mass into 9 separate beings known as the "Tailed Beasts".

1 Tailed Beast

Also known as Shukaku (守(ichibi(一尾)) of the sand, he was sealed inside of Gaara after unsuccessfully being sealed into unborn children. Originally the people of Sunagakure (Land of Sand) believed him to be a human who turned to a ghost (生霊).

Like the other tailed beasts Shukaku wishes to presrve his life, with his life in mind he grants his "Jinchūriki" (host) the power over sand and allow them to turn to sand when in need/bloodlust.

Shukaku is a mass of chakra that was formed from people's rage. Whenever possible he will kill anything or anyone in sight, especially during a full moon, as a result of this.

2 Tailed Beast

The 2 Tails (nibi(二尾))was believed to originally be a human the turned to a ghost (生霊). It's appearance is of a giant tiger engulfed in bright blue flames, with 1 eye green and the other yellow, it strongly resembles an alley cat. It's host is of kumogakure (Land fo Lightning) named Yugito Nii.

The three tailed beast (sanbi(三尾)) somewhat resembles a giant turtle. Its 3 tails look like shrimp and are a pale green in color. It was summoned from hibernation by Yūkimaru by Orochimaru's orders.

It fell into the hands of Kirigakure (Land of Water) village hidden in the mist) and was sealed inside of the 4th Mizukage. Then after one of the three "Great Ninja Wars" it disappeared into the wild.

Also known as Son Gokū, the 4 tails (yonbi(四尾)) appears to look like a giant ape. I believe that he was believed to come from a huge mass of collecting chakra formed by the pride of others. This resulted in his proud nature and strong hatred in humans.

He soon fell into the hands of Iwagakure (Land of Earth) and was sealed inside of Rōshi. He was then captured by Akatsuki and forced back inside the corpse of his previous host (jinchuuriki), but Naruto made contact with him, the rest is yet unknown until more chapters come out.

Chakra Nature He can use both fire and earth which allows him to combine the two and use the "lava" nature. Also known as Tsunoori (horn breaker(角折)) the 5 tails (gobi(五尾)) if formed by a horse but with the head of a dolphin. 2 horns stand atop its head with brown tips on the tails and horns.

The Five-Tails was eventually sealed by Iwagakure (Land of Earth) into a man named Han.

It was later captured by the Akatsuki and forced to do "Tobi's" will. But it broke free for a little, until it was taken over again.

Sealed inside of Utakata by Kirigakure (Land of Water) strongly resembles a slug. It is white, slimy and chubby and has tentacle-like eyes.

It was later captured by the Akatsuki and forced to do "Tobi's" bidding.

Strongly resembling a dragonfly, the seven-tails (nanabi(七尾)) was captured and sealed by Takigakure into Fū. Not much is known about the 7-tails except that it has the ability to fly.

8 Tailed Beast

The 8 Tailed Beast (Hachibi(八尾)) resembles an octopus with an oxen's head. Its relationship with its host

It was claimed and sealed by Kumogakure (Land of Clouds), but not many could control it. It would go on rampages, eventually it fought against the 3rd Raikage and it ended up a stalemate.

It was then sealed into "Killer Bee" using the "Iron Armour Seal". They then both went into training using the "Falls of Truth".

It later met Naruto Uzumaki and formed a bond with the kid. It agreed to help him control the 9-tails (kyuubi(九尾)) power even though it despised the 9-tails. It was shown to be highly intelligent because it was able to explain the mechanics of the "Tailed Beast Ball" to Naruto.

The 9 Tails (kyuubi(九尾)) is believed the most powerful of the Tailed Beasts. Most think it was formed from the hatred of others causing a mass of charkra to form the beast. It was first sealed inside of the 1st Hokage's wife Mito Uzumaki. The 2nd host was Kushina Uzumaki. (Naruto's mother). It later escaped during child birth and destroyed most of Konohagakure (Land of Fire). It was then sealed with a "Four Element Seal" inside of Naruto Uzumaki by Minato Namikaze (Naruto's dad and 4th Hokage).

Kurama, the 9-Tail's reals name, had a lot of his chakra sealed by many people. Minato Namikaze sealed its "yin" chakra within him and its "yang" within Naruto. The "Demon Brothers" consumed some of its chakra from being trapped within its belly for 4 days. And the "Fire Temple" sealed some of its escaped chakra within one of its disciples. But even with stolen chakra, it is still considered the most powerful of the Tailed Beasts.

The 9-Tails strongly resembles a red fox. It can create natural disasters with the swish of its tail.

Chakra Nature It has the chakra nature of wind, like Naruto, and of fire, like the Uchiha clan. Uniqeness can detect negative emotions. 10 Tailed Beast

The 10-Tails (Jūbi(十尾)) was sealed into "The Sage of the Six Paths" and divided into 9 separate beings known as the Tailed Beasts. Not much is known besides the fact that it brought destruction wherever it went. Not many capable ninja even stood a chance against it.

"Tobi" is currently trying to unite all the Tailed Beasts to reform the the 10-Tails again. He will then try to becomes its host (jinchūriki) and cloak the world in his Genjutsu.

Jichūriki

These are the most recent Jichūriki of the Tailed Beasts. It precedes in order from 1 to 10.

Gaara, 1-Tails Junchūriki

Gaara (我愛羅) is the only known jinchūriki of the 1-Tails.

He was born the son of the 4th Kazekage and Karura, and brother of Temari and Kankurō. Before he was born, Lady Chiyo was ordered to seal the 1-Tails within Gaara. His mother died when she gave birth to him, afterwards there were many assassination attempts by his father. This filled him with hate for his father.

During one of the attempts his uncle was forced to lie to him and attempt to kill him. This resulted in the 1-Tails going out of control and destroying most of the land.

Later Gaara enters into the Chūnin exams and meets Naruto Uzumaki. After battling a vigorous battle, the two form a powerful bond.

In a later mission Naruto is sent to go rescue the 5th Kazekage, Gaara, who was captured by the Akatsuki. Gaara then dies during the process of having the 1-Tails extracted from him. He is then resurrected by Lady Chiyo at the cost of her life. He now no longer posses the 1 Tailed Beast.
