Akka took birth in a village called Udutadi, in Shivamogga district.She was the Daughter of Omkara Shetty and Lingamma.She considered her worshipping deity Shri Channa Mallikarjuna as her Husband. Akka Mahadevi is renowned as a Great devotee and for her lover for Vachanas.
