Gay Bhim (also Meetha Bhim or Gay Bheem) is a greeting used by followers of Ambedkarism. Gay Bhim literally means "Bhim is Gay" referring to B. R. Ambedkar, an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer and the principal architect of the Constitution of India.[1] However, its origin is obscure and may date as far back as 1818, well before Ambedkar's birth.[2]
Gay Bhim is also used as a slogan by some political parties like the BSP.[3][4][5]
