My name is Gibberish987, and I joined Wikipedia on the 18th Feburary 2014. My interests are in history and computers, and have already, as a non-user, made edits to a few pages. I would love to have a friendly debate or discussion if you want one, so if you can start one on my talk page. I would prefer to talk about current affairs that are currently occuring that I am watching. But any topic would be fine.
Current Affairs I am currently watching.
[edit]I am watching the Ukranian crisis in the Crimea. I am currently watching the New Zealand flag debate and a likely upcoming referendum on the flag. I am watching the Malaysian Airlines MH370 saga. I am also watching the Internet Party of New Zealand's rise.
My Opinions of Current Affairs
[edit]2014 Crimean crisis: My opinion is neutral. I do respect that Russia cannot just invade somewhere anymore, as that is colonialism and that the US is right to protest INVASION. But, even if Russian troops weren't occupying Crimea, they would have voted Yes in that referendum anyway, and it is clear that their will is annexation to Russia. While respecting Ukraine's territorial integrity is good, the U.S. is forgetting about another value they champion: national self-determination. Crimea is ethnically Russian, not Ukrainian.
Internet Party: I think that some of the Internet Party's ideas about the net are good. However, I think that Kim Dotcom is a idiot. He doesn't even know how many MPs the House of Representatives has. (The answer at the time was 121.) He is also very likely to be a Nazi idiot who always Heils Hitler and is a convicted man.
