Guevedoces literally meaning "eggs at twelve", is the Spanish slang for the condition known as 5-alpha-reductase deficiency.
A Cornell endocrinologist, Imperato-Ginley (1979) reported 38 boys from 23 families to have the condition, all descending from a single individual named Altagracia Carrasco. The research has been used to support a biological argument for gender development, as the "girls" (with XY- male chromosomes) were nurtured as girls, then at puberty changes in androgen levels causes the carriers to physically change into girls.
The boys, after puberty were sexually attracted to girls, and behaved as typical males- which opposed the popular psychological view of Gender Neutrality supported by scientists like John Money.
