Waleed Odeh is a Palestinian novelist, born in Kuwait in 1973. He holds a PhD in computer engineering.[1]
Worked as a Technical Projects Manager in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Waleed Odeh began his literary writing career in 2010 with the publication of the novel “Two Brothers and One Ukrainian Bride” on January 1, 2010 AD, which was his first literary work, then followed it to the novel “The Stranger”, which was published on July 26, 2010 AD, in which he talks about the joining of an American soldier to the invasion of Iraq, influenced by propaganda. About spreading justice and democracy in the Middle East and fighting the enemies of freedom and preventing them from spreading weapons of mass destruction. Meanwhile, he and a group of his comrades are assigned a dangerous mission, which is to storm the house of a senior Iraqi army commander.[1]
And the novel “Half a Tearful Face,” which was published on January 01, 2012, deals with a traditional marriage between a Syrian man and a Palestinian girl. They love each other and are attached to each other. And the wife discovers, after a period of marriage, a strange picture of half a tearful face, which was painted by hand in different places of the house. She accuses her husband of drawing this picture for a purpose in himself and he denies the accusation against himself. The days reveal that behind this picture is a hidden secret that shakes the family entity and turns the scales of things.[1]
One novel after another, the writer Walid Odeh seeks to benefit from psychoanalytic theories in writing the fictional text, which is the main feature of his novelistic work “The Black Box”, as the subconscious plays a prominent role in its formation, in addition to the structure of the dream and the structure of language, thus writing the fictional text here becomes an investment for images The dream, the components of the subconscious, the regularities of language in its syntactic formations, and its various expressions that seek to search for the psychological components of the unconscious structure of the novelist’s character, which means that we are in front of a novelist who is able to represent the psychological human life, anticipating the man of science[2].
