It's a Summer Film! is a Japanese sci-fi romantic comedy[1] set in a 2020 Japanese high school during the filming of a Japanese school film called Samurai Spring.[2][3] Sôshi Masumoto is the writer and director of It's a Summer Film!.[2] It's a Summer Film! was screened in 2021 at Fantasia Fest.[2] It was also shown at the Tokyo International Film Festival.[3]
Plot
[edit]Barefoot, a Japanese high school student, and her friends are filming her ode to classic samurai films called Samurai Spring.[4][5] During filming, one of the group is revealed to be a time traveler, who is a fan of her future films.[3][2]
