The United Arab Emirates's Al Wathba prison has been widely reported for inhumane conditions.[1]
The prison was built in 1983, and is the largest of the UAE's five prisons.[1]

Built 35 years ago, it is the largest and oldest of the emirate's five prisons and contains male and female prisoners separated by large metal gates.
