Genna Dan whose given name is Rodjay Morrison, has made his mark as one of the most powerful and dynamic upcoming forces in the dancehall industry. Born and raised in Grove Place District, Manchester, he realized his passion for music while attending Christiana High School.

He recalls using music as a coping mechanism to deal with depression. Genna Dan grew up in a single parent household and though his mother was a hardworking woman, ends didn’t always meet.

For several years, he indirectly affiliated himself with music and though it gave him a high, it didn’t seem to fill the void he knew he had. It wasn’t until the year 2020 that he decided to chase his childhood dream that was evidently his calling.

He officially launched his career with his single “We Made It” which piqued the interest of many individuals due to its diverse composition. All his songs are filled with emotions as he writes from experiences.

His lyrics are gender neutral and highlight topics that are relatable and current. He also uses his platform to educate his listeners about occurrences in black history in a modernized manner. With hot new releases such as “We Made It”, “Mansa Musa”, “Keep Yuh Friendship”, “Bless Me” he was able to rapidly build his fan base and attract attention from several industry players.
