"Pedlar in Divinity": George Whitefield and the Transatlantic Revivals, 1737–1770 is a 1994 book analyzing the life of George Whitefield by Frank Lambert, a historian of American colonial and revolutionary history. Whitefield was an 18th century Anglican preacher and Great Awakening revivalist associated with the foundation of Methodism and the broader evangelical movement. Adapted from Lambert's PhD dissertation published as a series of articles for the William and Mary Quarterly, Pedlar in Divinity seeks to connect Lambert's revivalism with the birth of consumer culture and the American Revolution.
