(Underground Railroed) is... (a movement to organize information, safe travel, lodging, and transportation to people living in states with severe restrictions on abortion rights into states open to providing legal abortion healthcare.)
When the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022, California, Washington and Oregon pledged to form an alliance to legally defend people from other states seeking an abortion.
Citizens living in these states (and in others with access to abortion healthcare) are working to provide grassroots support to people seeking such healthcare in what is being called the "Underground Railroed" (in reference to both Roe v. Wade and to the movement of slaves out of Southern Territories called the "Underground Railroad").
