Ideas for contribution to article: Latinophobia
There is currently very little information available about Latinophobia on wikipedia. There is sufficient information about Hispanophobia, which is related to people from Spanish decent but very little on Latinophobia. There is not an article page about Latinophobia, the current infomation is found on Wiktionary. Because of this the page currently only has information on the word itself and not the derivation of the word or the social and political implications.
I want to contribute more information on the social implications of the word and how it came to be. Where/how Latinophobia was first established in the United States and how it has resurfaced with current events. Currently, the Hispanophobia page is based on both the fear of hispanics as well as relation to those of the Spanish language. I want to make a separate article. or just add a section under Hispanophobia, for Latinophobia because there is and was clearly a lot of anti-Latino sentiment in the US dated back to the Mexican-American war. I do not want to focus on one type of Latino because during the time of the US's growth there was an influx of Latinos, and with it a hatred to the Latino people.
