Early life and personal life
GASTEWAY was born in Freetown Kissy Terminal and grew up in Newcastle street, Kissy mess-mess, Freetown. Both his parents are from Sierra Leone, who has been supporting his education from kindergarten to university. GASTEWAY has been an icon for his peers as well as a talked about figure among elders of his community. GASTEWAY had his kindergarten and primary education at the Ansarul Islamic Primary School Kissy Dock-yard Freetown. After a successful examination, he graduated to the Secondary level as he attended the Sierra Leone Muslim Union Junior Secondary School Portee, being a bright student, he sat to the Basic Education Certificate Examination and fothered his Senior secondary education at the John F Kennedy international school, where he attended briefly before switching on to the Prince of Wales secondary school Kingtom the following year and then went to seat to the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (W.A.S.S.C.E).
He then fothered his education after graduation at the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, University of Sierra Leone pursuing Bachelor in basic medicine and surgery.
He's a member of De Prodigies, a rap group formed by friends who attend the Prince of Wales School Kingtom.
Music Life
In 2018 GASTEWAY recorded his first studio session together with fellow artists of De Prodigies.
In 2019, GASTEWAY and Prinz Halloway did a joint titled Ar Nor Bin Ready which turn out fan favorite and a talked about song among fellow students of The College of Medicine and Allied Health sciences ( a place where failure is not a new thing, as the demand is high). It came as a shock, as the atmosphere is unlikely for such act.
Gasteway and Prinz Halloway worked on another joint with a different style, highlighting some of the problems around, titled Dear Life. This gets the media attention, as he and his teammate Prinz Halloway were interviewed on the new school show with Pat-Cob at Star Radio 103.5
GASTEWAY's style has been influenced by a hybrid of Rappers such as, Tupac Shakur, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Shadow Boxxer, Kao Denero and Sarkodie
In 2020, GASTEWAY performed in various august occasions, The White Coat Ceremony organised by the Sierra Leone Medical Students' Association (S.L.E.M.S.A), the leadership summit organized by the Students Representative Council COMAHS Usl, the university Festival
