What do I believe Wikipedia should be

[edit]

I think Wikipedia should be a place where everyone can contribute to a world of knowledge. Although Wikipedia is not seen as a trustworthy source for Academic reading, it is a really great starting point. It conveniently gives you a starting point to find out so much more about specific information. Wikipedia can also keep you busy to expand your general knowledge, and also read a bit about the opinions, and knowledge of others.

Even though you might not agree with some people, Wikipedia gives you the chance to get to learn how other people think. That alone might broaden your own opinions and ideas, which I think is great. Gone is the time where you have an excuse to not understand others!

Wikipedia is then also a place where you can contribute to the holes in other people's work. If you are an expert, you can really make a difference by contributing to pages on Wikipedia. If you are a language and grammar fanatic, your contribution might even be greater than that of a professional of a field, because you make it possible to read the work!

That is in short what my philosophy is about Wikipedia.
