Tutorial 3
[edit]Activity 1
[edit]I got the random article regarding Scott Parker (actor) which is rated at a stub-class on the project's quality scale.
To better increase the quality of the article, more information on the actor and his performances would help flesh out the page. In terms of formatting, the page could be further divided into separate sections; a section listing films and one listing plays as an example.
Activity 3
[edit]This time I got the article regarding Kenelm Edward Digby which is rated a start-class. I made edits to areas that were close paraphrasing but still tagged it for close paraphrasing as there may be other areas that are still problematic.
Tutorial 4
[edit]Activity 1
[edit]Discussing with criteria listed in Wikipedia's Featured Article Criteria in mind and commenting on Cloud Gate:
Regarding its prose, the article is written with digestible language and presents the topic with a neutral tone, describing mainly features and elements of the sculpture and separating the subjective nature and reception of the artwork in to a section on its own (even then citing references from which these opinions/perspectives come from). The article presents many issues of interest surrounding the sculpture and thus presents a comprehensive description and detailing of the sculpture and various issues related to the Cloud Gate. It is difficult to determine whether the sources regarding reception/perspectives are reliable as they are mostly subjective in nature - the sources on the location, designer and construction are also taken from news sources rather than peer reviewed journal articles. As evident from the edit history and the talk page, the article is quite stable.
It follows Wikipedia's house style quite rigidly and thus fulfills Wikipedia's feature article criteria. The introduction summaries many of the important aspects of the Cloud Gate and does so without going in depth and follows a consistent structure afterwards along with consistent citation style.
