Whoa, Nelly! is the debut studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Nelly Furtado.
Critical reception
[edit]In a positive review, Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic praised Furtado's vocal style, calling her a "restless vocalist, skitting and scatting with abandon, spitting out rapid repetitions, bending notes, and frequently indulging in melismas." He also added that the album itself is a "rewarding, promising debut."[1]
Chart performance
[edit]Whoa, Nelly! peaked at number 24 on the US Billboard 200 albums chart.[2] In the UK, the album rose to the top ten, at number six, by it's thirty-ninth week on the chart.[3]
