Anathi Mdiza who is currently known as his stage name AKay Galour was born in Grahamstown in South African. Early on, the budding artist had a great interest in following his dream of making music because of his sister who liked to sing at home with her spellbinding voice.

Growing up, Galour was also inspired by a passion of becoming an athlete and playing tennis. He was also naturally inclined towards public speaking and had a visceral way of talking to speaking. However, unable to find the right pathways and the right tools to galvanize those interests, Galour was pulled towards making music and making tunes. He recounts how the shock of FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa compelled him to create something for himself that he values. Therefore, he started writing his own lyrics for the first time ever, subsequently began recording the following year.

Deciding to follow his heart, AKay formed a team and began auditioning on radios 2017. His pursuits proved fruitful after Ragmatical Radio showed interested in his rapping and promised to sign him and provide him with accomodation in Johannesburg.

AKay never stopped with the journey of his lifestyle, and after releasing an EP in 2019, he was invited to an audition in London - an opportunity that opened new doors for the artist.

Galour then went on to create a distinct brand for his team and record company, moving another step closer to achieving his dreams in the industry. Eagerly working towards building his brand, Galour continued to focus on novel ways to offer audiences a creative and amendable form of art. He began to produce himself and continued to do so until 2015. In 2016, the artist attended a boarding school before returning to the recording studio in 2019, and delivering phenomenal EP titled "The Beginner The Saviour"

For AKay Galour, music remains a means to achieve his long-term goals of building a house for himself as well as his sister and continuing to create moving memories with those he values the most
