Titan is Saturn's largest moon. It is the 2nd largest moon in the solar system, just behind Ganymede. Titan is the only known moon in the solar system to have liquids on it's surface. The liquid is thought to be liquid methane. Huygens was an atmospheric entry robotic space probe that landed successfully on Saturn's moon Titan in 2005. There were 3 space probes that visited Saturn, only 1 stayed, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 were space probes launched to discover the secrets of the outer solar system. On their journey, Voyager 1 took an image of Saturn taken four days after the closest approach and from 3.3 million miles away.
Huygens probe, by most estimates, the spacecraft burned up in the atmosphere and was destroyed about 45 seconds after the last transmission. During the final moments of the descent, data from eight of Cassini's science instruments beamed important data back to Earth, giving insight into the planet's formation and evolution. Cassini Hudgens was a space probe that entered orbit around Saturn on July 1st 2004, and then had a marvelous exit, On Sept. 15, 2017, the spacecraft made its final approach to the giant planet Saturn. But this encounter was like no other. This time, Cassini plunged into the planet's atmosphere, sending science data for as long as its small thrusters could keep the spacecraft's antenna pointed at Earth.
Titan, the largest moon of Saturn, is named for the Titans of Greek mythology, which include Cronus (equated with the Roman god Saturn) and his 11 siblings. Titan is larger than the planet Mercury and more massive than Pluto, and, in significant ways, it resembles a planet more than it does a typical moon. The Titans were the pre-Olympian gods who ruled the cosmos in ancient Greek mythology before the Titanomachy War. They were giant, immortal deities and considered the first generational gods born from the primordial gods, Uranus and Gaea. They ruled from Mount Orthys, and each god had its realm to rule over.
The noun titan comes from Greek mythology, in which the Titans were a race of gods. Today, a titan is someone who is god-like, or powerful and influential in a certain field.
Titan is the only other body in our solar system on which humans could possibly live in the future. It's the only possible destination that works similar to Earth and is the only body that has liquid on or near its surface. Titan has a thick atmosphere, stronger than Earth, that would protect us from radiation.
