Structure and data types of the table

Table 1: General information and prices

Product's name

Field description: Specifies the full name of the product
Field values and formatting: Plain text. If the provider is not originally included in the service's name, it is placed before it. For example, "Acronis True Image Home" is written as is; instead, "OneDrive" is reported here as "Microsoft OneDrive". If the same provider offers multiple cloud storage products or solutions, each one is presented in a separated row. For example, "MozyHome" and "MozyPro" are found as two distinct lines in the table, both provided by Mozy (EMC Corp.).

Target customers

Field description: this is the intended type of customers that should use the product. If not specified by provider, an approximate idea is given.
Fields values and formatting: One or a combination of these values:
- "Personal (home)": services to be used by a single end user and/or his family
- "Small Business": services to be used by single professionals or small business offices
- "Enterprise": services to be used in medium to large enterprises. In theis case the pricing plans are usually quoted depending on the client size.
- "Generic": services that scale up well from single users to large groups

Supported operating systems

Field description: a list of operating systems where the application can be installed on, natively and fully featured. This does not include browser-based versions, browser plugins or software modules that are only dedicated to single aspects of the service. Some providers offer additional platforms support as a plan upgrade, in this case the operating systems will be listed here only if the different implementations can access to the same account and the same data.
Field values and formatting: a comma-separated list of supported operating systems, that must link to their respective Wikipedia pages. The minimim version of the OS should be specified when available (using the [version]+ notation scheme)

"Server locations" column Description: the countries in which the provider's server are located in Fields values and formatting: a list of comma separated country names, that must link to their Wikipedia pages. Individual countries should be listed when possible instead of generic areas or continents.

"Green hosting" column Description:

"Free plan (non-trial)" column Description: provides details about free plans, when available. Often it is possible to increase the free backup limit through coupons, referrals, or other means that are not included in this column. This column also does not include free trials that are only available for a limited period of time. Fields values and formatting: [included GB], [optional: "feat. limited"] The first part indicates the amount of storage that is freely available, the second part indicates if the free plan has the same full features that the paid plans (apart from size) or has limited functionalities. Both parts may be further explained inside the notes section. "Paid plans" column Description: the offers and pricing details varies so often that it is not useful to report them here in Wikipedia. A good practice is to insert a link to the provider's offers page or to sum up the plans in the "additional information" section, specifying the date in which the data was collected and the details of the plan: price/period/storage/devices/functionalities

Table 2: Backup features and dynamics

"Source Selection" column (Desktop version only) Description: Specifies the available options for selecting the backup source, i.e. the data and the objects that will be backed up. This is realtive to the main application installed on a computer Fields values and formatting: [File system objects]/[Images (optional)]/[Filters (optional)]/[Presets (optional)]

File system objects: can be one of these values:
- Single folder: only a single, preset folder will be backed up. The user must copy all contents into that folder in order to have them saved to the cloud. Note that usually the folder path may be changed. The use of symbolic or hard links is not considered here.
- Folders only: backup sources can be multiple folders, but not individual files.
- Any objects: individual files as well as multiple folders can be selected as backup source.
Images (optional): backup of the entire disk or partition image is supported
Filters (optional): filters are available for excluding specific files or folders
Presets (optional): preset backup schemes are available for backing up a specific area or functionality, like user data and settings, documents only, applications and drivers, databases, etc.
