The Berre River is a river of southern France which flows in the Aude department, and into the Mediterranean Sea. It is 53 kilometres (33 mi) long[1].
Geography
[edit]Course
[edit]The river flows in the Corbières in a southeast-northwest direction. Its origin is on the Col de Mairolles, 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) south of the centre of the village of Quintillan, France, which it runs along; it then flows through Cascastel-des-Corbières, Villeneuve-les-Corbières, Durban-Corbières, and Portel-des-Corbières. Despite flowing into the Étang de Bages-Sigean, the Sandre states the Berre flows into the Mediterranean Sea at Port-la-Nouvelle[1], through the channel locally called "Grau de Port-la-Nouvelle".
