This is Wikipedia, hopefully they have been revised and improved.
I reserves the right to completely screw up my edits. I make way too many typos, so copyediting is always appreciated. Copyeditors are a rare breed here on Wikipedia, and we should all give them more appreciation. Thanks for fixing my mistakes, and most importantly, thanks for making this a better place for our readers! |
AfD | I have rescued 7 articles for deletion by improving them, some of them with significant help from other editors. The best possible outcome of an AfD discussion is an improved article. How many have you rescued? |
The Original Barnstar
You are being rewarded this barnstar for inspiring others to rescue articles nominated for deletion. I took a leaf out of your book and it looks like I have managed to rescue Laura Hannant from deletion. Bravo! David L Rattigan 15:12, 30 June 2006 (UTC) |
The Special Barnstar | ||
For service above and beyond the call of duty in too many areas to count, I bestow this Special Rainbow Barnstar on GRBerry, Wikipedian troubleshooter extraordinaire! Xoloz 00:27, 16 September 2007 (UTC) |
The Barnstar of Diligence
For dedicated performance of tiresome and monotonous administrative tasks, always with a fair hand and keen judgment, GRBerry deserves ten thousand such Barnstars of Diligence! Xoloz 13:21, 11 October 2007 (UTC) |
The Deletion Review Barnstar
A Deletion Review Barnstar, for your long history of thoughtful and sound DRV closures -- but more specifically for the deleted cabals closure, which was one of the best, and for a very tough discussion. IronGargoyle (talk) 01:22, 19 April 2008 (UTC) |
Incomplete Destubbing
[edit]Pages partially destubbed, roughly in reverse chronological order with what I think is needed to finish the destubbing.
- The Progressive Christian - researching at a research library for sources about the prior title of Zion's Herald
- Maximus of Jerusalem - paper & foreign language sources, especially the original church historians
- Christian Classics Ethereal Library - need to look for print journal articles from the early 1990s and later
- Icerya purchasi - needs a search, not just following links
- Christian Topography - need to look for 20th century sources on the text, find the original quotes by Gibbons and Beazley
- Allen Temple AME Church (Cincinnati, Ohio) - need to use the church's own website, plus someone should follow up on the biographies of print sources listed on the talk page
- Offset loan (finance) - search academic/professional literature, not just popular press
- Warner Sallman - should be expanded from the academic work on him, more online data would be available to someone with JSTOR/Muse/Questia access
- Sarah Hall Boardman - needs research
- Lahu Christian churches - It needs globalization and generally more effort using yet to be found sources. I intend further effort.
- Backyard Wildlife Habitat - It needs more research, probably library based.
- ProgressSoft - Needs attention by an Arabic speaking editor as I suspect most sources are in Arabic.
- Fountain Trust - It needs library reasearch by a UK based editor.
- Qualified Institutional Buyer - It needs globalization beyond India and the U.S.
Initial Authorship or Total Rewrites
[edit]Pages I initially created or totally rewrote, in reverse chronological order.

- Scarborough River - from list of ME rivers
- Spednic Lake - from list of ME lakes

- American carrion beetle (Necrophilia americana)- saw them on vacation; we didn't have an article
- Otis Moss III - to rescue from AFD that was trending solidly merge
- Frédéric-Vincent Lebbe - Spring 08 issue of Christian History and Biography
- Moreland Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania - researching whether a recent change was accurate, discovered a topic we were missing
- Johnson's Seagrass - working through NMFS/NOAA recovery plans; the first marine plant listed under the U.S. Endangered Species Act
- Red Paint People - not the first to edit, but did a total rewrite as the sources used had been misinterpreted, so the article missed a century of scientific study of them
- Nescambious The only Native American knighted by the French
- Katahdin Iron Works - Maine state historic site, also location of Gulf Hagas, a national natural landmark
- Phil Callaway - while not the first to edit the page, I did a total replacement version using no text from the prior version in order to rescue from AFD

- Emily Chubbuck - third wife of Adoniram Judson was a redlink in his biography

Other Significant Contributions
[edit]- After receiving (I had a subscription) an issue of Christian History & Biography focused on Adoniram Judson I got inspired to improve his article and articles on other topics covered in the magazine. If you receive a reliable source yourself, use it! But remember to abide by fair use restrictions.
- I went through all rivers in List of Maine rivers with an article and added links to the U.S. National Geological Service's real time flow data for river flow. This was inspired by my edits to Aroostook River above, which was inspired by SuggestBot.
Minor Noticable Contributions
[edit]- Eight Template:Did you know entries for articles I created/destubbed. See User:GRBerry/DYK for details.
- Had a part in getting the German userbox solution going.
