GHEORGHE CIOBANU Romanian Painter artist Buzau

Gheorghe Ciobanu (born in Buzau, Romania 17 July 1932) is famous romanian painter artist. He is famous for his paintings that have a special positive destiny, as the fate generously blessed him with many special gifts since he was a kid.

Life and Career

At the age of 25 he was admitted into the Painting Faculty of the former “Nicolae Grigorescu Arts Institute. Educated and grown up in an atmosphere dominated by the classical values, guided by teachers, after graduation he was more and more aware of the sooner or later he would have to legitimated with his own identity, within or beyond classicism.

In New York 1976 another exhibit of Romanian art is opened at the Hogan Campus Center at the College of the Holy Cross which embraced a large variety of themes ranging from rural life to the delicate world of flowers and fruit. But definitely his American debut was “JOCKEY”. The romanian artist, was now on display at Rutgers-Newark’s Dana Library. This marks his first American showing of colorful works that was arranged in cooperation with the Romanian library in New York by Dr. TarasHunczak, professor of history and director of the East European Studies at NCAS.
